Hi, have used product Turbo Metal Bog for first time in a ‘Roof Gutter’ had to mix about 4 lots. Seems 1 lot may not have had a lot of the ‘red’ hardener and it (1 day later) seems a bit -sticky-soft- any ideas of what to do? It is now exposed to the sun but was not when applying it.

– only about 50 cms of it long and about 2-10 cms (varies) wide with minute depth. It was only placed over the rusted part -which was cleaned and scraped as best I could — difficult working in a roof gutter.

I am about to paint over the bog and the exposed metal base of the gutter with an Epoxy Resign ( 2 coats -) 1st coat with a little solvent (White Knight Rust Guard Solvent) to ensure the paint (White Knight Rust Guard Epoxy Enamel) flows into any minute cracks in the metal gutter and then when that is dry (within the over coating instructions) overcoat with the Epoxy Enamel.

Am I on the right track. The finished internal surface of the gutter is not visible, so finish is not a problem.

You really should scrape out the non-hardened Metal Bog band re-apply with the correct amount of hardener. However, since you are over-coating with an epoxy enamel and it is unseen, it might work out OK.

The worry is that unreacted monomer in the Metal Bog might cause a blistering reaction in the white Knight paint. And the Metal Bog to steel surface will not be waterproof, allowing more rusting to occur underneath the Filler
